Major Douglas A. Zembiec Memorial Golf Tournament Raises $100,000 for Charity
PS Charities and its title sponsor, ProSol, held its annual charity golf tournament, the Major Douglas A. Zembiec Memorial Golf Tournament, on Friday, May 21, 2010, at Fort Belvoir Golf Club. The event raised $100,000 with proceeds benefitting Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), which provides ongoing emotional help, hope, and healing to all who have lost a loved one in military service to our country.
In addition to the golf tournament, PS Charities raffled off a 2010 Harley Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle.
The tournament began at 8:30 am on a beautiful early summer day when over 200 golfers left the clubhouse to tee off on two courses at Fort Belvoir. At the conclusion, various awards were presented and the motorcycle drawing was held. Bonnie Carroll, Chief Executive Officer of TAPS, was presented with the final $100,000 donation to TAPS. Also in attendance was Major Zembiec’s widow, Pam.
PS Charities and ProSol would like to thank all corporate sponsors who donated to this worthy cause, and to all of the volunteers who made the tournament a success.
